Two nights ago, The Scene Aesthetic played a show in Houston (The Woodlands), TX and there I met a young lady named Brittny Fisher who asked me if I had any of my spoon rings with me for sale. I reached into my messenger bag and pulled out ten spoon rings so she could look through them. Very carefully she tried several of them on before selecting her final purchase. She was so incredibly enthusiastic about owning a spoon ring that I asked Brittny if she wouldn’t mind sharing her thoughts with us in a guest post.

Today I got an email from Brittny and this is what she had to say:
When I was a sophomore in high school, a girl on my cheerleading squad had a spoon ring that her grandmother had found for her, and since then I have wanted to find one for myself. I just find it extremely serendipitous that Eric decided to begin making them, because I had my heart set on finding one. At first I thought of them as a novelty, so I figured, “why not?” I also wanted to buy one to support Eric, because I just LOVE The Scene Aesthetic as a group, but I feel like it is my duty as a fan to show support in their individual ventures as well. I find it, again, serendipitous that The Scene Aesthetic was in Houston last night, so I get to enjoy a great show, and get my spoon ring without having to wait for it to ship! This ring means much more to me than just supporting Eric’s business venture, though. He takes antique spoons-so full of history unbeknownst to us, and transforms them. They are still spoons, sort of, but also functional rings; an unexpected transformation for a spoon, but beautiful, none the less. My spoon ring signifies a transformation I’m going through: taking my history-which not everyone can see-my own baggage, and transforming it into something beautiful. I’m still me; as the spoon is still a spoon, but it’s almost as if my history has been erased and wiped clean, to start over as a ring. Luckily, I chose a ring that has some flat, blank space on it, so I can get it engraved with a lyric that means a lot to me from The Scene Aesthetic, I just haven’t quite decided upon which yet. Thank you so much Eric! I love my ring, and I honestly will recommend Silver & Spoon to everyone I know.
